Dose of Lola

2 coats

Dior Galaxie is a warm plum packed with fine, pink shimmer. This was my pick for my first mani of Autumn, and it's been on ever since. The wear is awesome! The formula is also worth mentioning. Galaxie applied effortlessly, and it could definitely be a one-coater if applied carefully.

Dior 992 Galaxie retails for $24 and is available at Sephora.

Givenchy Croisiere Purple is a beautiful lavender creme. I like my purples to have no hint of pink, so this shade is right up my alley. The finish is super shiny, and the formula is absolutely flawless.

If you've been looking for some luscious cremes, definitely look into Givenchy. I haven't tried a bad one yet.

Givenchy Croisiere Purple retails for $20 and is available on Sephora.com.

Hard Candy Emerald's Eve,  Deborah Lippmann Shake Your Money Maker

Emerald's Eve, Shake Your Money Maker Emerald's Eve, Shake Your Money Maker

The only noticeable difference between the two is that the teal glitter in the HC is more vibrant than the DL. The DL also has a blue-ish base, while the HC has a clear base. Over black, the difference is still slightly noticeable.

These two are not dupes, but they will probably be close enough for most people, especially considering the price difference. I actually like Emerald's Eve more. The formulas are comparable - both thick and packed with glitter.

Hardy Candy Emerald's Eve (7.8 ml) retails for $4 and is available on Walmart.com. It's probably in-store too, but save yourself the headache and just order it online.

Deborah Lippmann Shake Your Money Maker (15 ml) retails for $19 and is available at Sephora and Ulta.

Please bear with me while I figure out my new lighting setup. I broke the lights I was using previously, so I decided to use my OttLite for the first time.I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, so feedback would be lovely. I've reordered my old lights and will most likely switch back once they arrive.

Onto the photos!

I love what Zoya Katherine does to the color of the DL Edge of Glory flakies. It's even cooler in person! However, I didn't quite get the depth I was hoping for with this combo. I think another coat of Katherine would've perfected it. As you see it, this is 4 coats of Katherine and 2 coats of Edge of Glory.

Zoya Katherine retails for $8 and is available on Zoya.com

Deborah Lippmann Edge of Glory is part of a set that is discontinued, but there are a few sets that are currently listed on eBay for less than retail.

Here's another shade from the Orly Surreal Fall 2013 collection.

3 coats

Orly Purple Poodle is a fuchsia jelly with purple flakes and shimmer. It looks darker in the bottle than it does on the nails. I wasn't pleased with how this looked on me, so I added a coat of Essie Matte About You to see if that would change my mind.

Uh yeah! It totes did. I love it matte and will probably only wear it this way. Purple Poodle's formula was thin and manageable. No application issues at all.

Have you picked up anything from this collection? What are your current fall lemmings?

The Orly Surreal collection is by far my favorite Fall 2013 release. It's also the only full collection I purchased this season. I love that none of these shades scream Fall, but they still fit.

2 coats Pink Waterfall, 1 coat Pixie Powder

Orly Pink Waterfall is a cool toned pink creme. Unfortunately, the formula is pretty bad. It's quite thick, and I experienced a ton of bubbling. I thinned, tried again, and experienced even more bubbling. I used Orly Pixie Powder to cover the bubbles, which worked wonderfully. Pixie Powder is a bottle of sparkly goodness that you need to see in person. It's a must-have, in my opinion.
