Dose of Lola

I'm not really the colored liner type, but Leticia, of Cosmetics Aficionado, posted a couple looks that inspired me to give it a go. Tightlining allowed me to keep the definition around my eyes that I always seem to lose when using colored liners.

This is a lovely polish to break my streak of vampy shades. In the bottle, it's a pale pink with bronze pink shimmer running through it. On the nail, it's a gorgeous peach pink that literally glows. I love it! I did not, however, love the application. Holy streaks, Batman! It was opaque in two coats but needed a third to even it out. It may have been partially because I literally had 5 minutes to do my mani this morning. Anyway, a coat of SV over the wet polish took care of everything. I'm so glad I picked this up!

Look at the shimmer. Ahhh! So pretty!

Well first off, I got a lightbox. I wanted to DIY it, but with my luck, I'd probably sever an artery or at least get a major papercut (aka I'm lazy). I got my kit here. Not too shabby. I don't know what I'm doing with it yet and didn't have time to fiddle with it for too long, so these are the results. Next time I'll try to uh, focus.

Have I mentioned how much I love that Ulta is carrying Barielle Shades now??

They carry Zoya now, too! Hopefully they'll put Fire & Ice out soon. :D

Ondine is definitely top 5 faves for me. I even hit pan on it in my Holiday 08 (9947) palette!

Sloane is a gorgeous deep vampy purple shimmer. I accented with CND Glow, which makes any polish look amazing.

1 coat of ATU over 3 coats of NARS Zulu (previous mani)

I'm not sure why I've fallen into the habit of doing my nails at night now. The sun is so much more friendly to polish pictures. Anywho, this polish is gorgeous in even the worst lighting. ATU has a navy blue jelly base with green and blue hexagonal sequins and bright blue glitter. The base is pigmented enough for this to be worn alone (opaque at 3 coats on its own), but still allows the fabulous glitter and sequins to show through. LOVE! Without Zulu underneath, the navy blue base is much more obvious.

As I slowly work my way through my untried/neglected shadows, I've finally come to terms with something. I love looking at green and blue eyeshadows, but wearing them makes me nervous as hell. I always spend way too much time figuring out what to pair them with and usually end up just applying a bit to my lower lash line. No wonder my blue and green palettes look brand new!

No more, I say! I'm going to (hopefully) make all these shadows work for me...

So, of course I started with a shadow that's super easy to wear (yeah, I'm lazy). UD Shattered is a gorgeous green-blue-gold shadow that's really cool because you can pick which color you want to be dominant by the base you use. I went with a green base (MAC Sweet Sage f/l). I'd imagine this would work on most skintones since it's such a chameleon shade. Check it out the next time you're at Sephora or Ulta!
