Dose of Lola

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm staying in today to avoid all the crazy black Friday shopping.

2 Coats

Perplex is a gorgeous greyed purple with purple shimmer which is very similar to Chanel Paradoxal. Paradoxal is still untried, but I'll post some nail wheel swatches when I get the chance. The formula and pigmentation is fantastic. I barely needed a single coat.

I love Ulta's reward program so very much! I was level 10 this quarter, so I got a perfume (level 6) and two OPI's (level 2). I couldn't decide between the two, so I purchased Dior Addict and got Parisienne free. I realized that I'd picked up Sephora seriously needs to take a hint from Ulta. For spending $500 at Ulta, I get a high end perfume and two polishes. For spending $500 dollars at Sephora, I get a set of deluxe samples...

Moving on. Let's see what else I've managed to acquire in the past three days.

Oh Flowerbomb, how I love thee! I skipped getting this during the F&F sale (why!?) but finally took it home with me yesterday.

Ulta polishes have really been impressing me lately. Their pro and salon polishes are currently B2G2. I have no clue where my other two salon formulas went...oh well.

Okay. I'm not exactly sure why I ignored OPI Swiss when it came out, but I'm glad none of the shades are sold out yet. They're so pretty! I think I now have the full Burlesque collection. I knew it would happen eventually in my own weird way.

I'm so excited about the next part of this haul. So, you know the website head2toebeauty.com? Well, they have a store, too! I randomly stumbled across it today. I went to CVS to pick up another bottle of Revlon Perplex, and there it was: a tiny store tucked away. At first, I didn't think they were open to the public, but they had hours posted and an open sign, so I ventured in. The owners are so nice! They helped me find things amongst the million boxes of online orders they were filling.

Yay for cheap polishes with no $10 shipping charge!

Under The Stars is a deep navy with bright blue microglitter. There seems to be a ton of glitter in bottle, but it doesn't translate to the nail at all. That's okay, though. It's still beautiful in an understated sort of way. The application was absolutely flawless over my Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler. I've had some issues in the past with rbl's and other base coats, so I'm happy to have found a combo that works.

Sapphire is a medium blue with bright blue microglitter. Gorgeous! I had no application issues at all; the formula is great! I can't wait to wear this one again. It made my nails literally look like gems. *happy dance*

Nubar is having a sale right now! 30% off of purchases $30 or more. Head over to Nubar and use promotional code NOV3030

Actually, I didn't do much hunting. I went to one nail salon and one beauty supply store. The beauty supply visit was a bust, but I got a couple great things at the salon!

AHHHHH! Awesome, right?! I got all four China Glazes for $4. The dud is a Crystal Ball bottle with some icky brown polish inside. In my excitement, I read the label and didn't actually look at the color. Oh well. Maybe I'll go back and see if they have another bottle. They also sold me TSMGO for $4. It's brand new! *happy dance*

2 coats over Ulta Pro Twisted Tinsel

What a fun polish! I wore this mani to my borther's birthday party last week. It adds something special to pretty much anything you layer it over, but I especially love it over silver foils. It applied like all of my other Lippmann glitters. Wait a minute or two in between coats so that you don't push the sequins around.

If you're not ready to hand over $18 for clown barf, Milani just released a similar polish called Gems, so be sure to check for it on your next drugstore run.

About me

As a kid, while everyone else was collecting Pokemon cards, I was collecting Bonne Bell Lip Smackers. My addiction to lip balm evolved into an addiction to all things beauty – from makeup to hair to nail polish.
