Dose of Lola

2 coats
I decided to finally wear this as it has been exactly one year since I was lucky enough to score this BNIB at a dusty. What a great day! Amethyst is ridiculously pretty and pictures do it (and many other holos) no justice.

Keep an eye out for this when you're dusty hunting! The eBay prices for this one are offensive.

You know what grinds my gears? Seeing things on sale that I bought full price. Oh well!

Let's face it: my turnaround time (purchase>swatch>post) is a little slow. However, when I saw that HSN clearanced the Footloose collection, I made it a mission to swatch them and post about it.

Mission accomplished!

You'll have to excuse my shoddy polishing skills. I'm very a little rusty. Let's Hear it for the Boy is a gorgeous pale blue creme. It reminds me of Essie Borrowed & Blue but brighter and bluer. The formula's slightly on the thick side, but totally manageable. Any issues you see are total user error!

Dancing in the Sheets is LHIFTB's partner. It's a deep purple base chock full of bright blue shimmer. The color's pretty, yes, but the formula on this one is ABSURDLY AWESOME. It applied with such ease and precision, even though I had a wonky brush. Not too thin or thick, it was a joy to apply.

Almost Paradise is a pistachio green creme. It's a green you don't see very often, and I love that! I did not love the formula, though. It was a bit streaky and runny, but it's not a dealbreaker for me. The color definitely compensates for its less than perfect formula.

Footloose is a glossy, red creme. It leans slightly orange, but not as much as my photo might imply. This totally reminded me of Supermodel, but it was just my mind playing tricks on me. I loved the application on this one as well. What a winner.

If you love the look of these, hurry to HSN and pick up the sets for half the original price!

Ray is a squishy off white packed with flecked shimmer. It's gorgeous! Unfortunately, it makes my nails look bulky. You know that thick look you get when there's just too much nail polish on your nails? Can't stand it. Other than that, though, it's a beautiful shade that applied with no issues. Perhaps I'll try extra thin coats next time.

I totally forgot to mention their signature rose scent! I guess I just assume everyone knows. :) It's a lovely scent that isn't too overpowering or artificial. The perfect amount of rose, in my opinion.

I'm a sucker for a pretty coral, and this definitely fits the description. Splendor also has gold shimmer running through it, but it isn't always noticeable. Not really season-appropriate, but who cares? The formula is on the thick side and it does take a bit of finessing to apply this smoothly, but the extra effort is definitely worth it.

Do you polish your nails according to season, or do you wear whatever you want whenever? I think I'm a little of both!

My favorite from the collection! Such a gorgeous, dusty green. I've loaned this one to a few of my friends, and I think it's safe to say: this is gorgeous on everyone! So chic. The formula is nice and pigmented - I barely needed a second coat!

Hello, readers! Long time now post. I've been ridiculously busy with life - you all know how it goes. I have tons to catch up on, including my 600 follower giveaway. Please bear with me while I play catch up and post things you may have already seen a million times by now! I'll try to throw in some current things as well. If you have any swatch/review requests, please feel free to contact me!

Onto the review...

I picked up a bunch of AA's new shades recently, and since I've been on an indefinite neutral phase, Dance was the first one I tried.

Dance is a pale nude with a touch of pink. It's pretty neutral, not leaning too cool or too warm. It's squishy and sheer - probably could have used a third coat. The formula is nice and smooth, not too thick or runny. I had no issues with the application. I thought it might look very similar to Deborah Lippmann's Naked, but it is slightly paler and pinker.

Tart with a Heart is such a fun polish! It has gold, silver, and holo microglitter as well as round holo glitter all suspended in a clear base. It is on the thick side, but that doesn't hinder the application much. I love that it's dense enough to just do one coat for layering. I bet it could be opaque on its own in three.

Are you loving any of the new American Apparel shades? What about the holiday Butters? Let me know in the comments!
