Dose of Lola

I stumbled upon these little guys the last time I was at a SiJCP.

Ciate Heirloom, Antique Brooch, Love Letter

However, I have not seen this set anywhere else. Not in free standing Sephoras, the Sephora website, and not even in other SiJCP's I've visited. Weird, huh? When I expanded my search beyond Sephora, I did manage to find full size bottles of most of the collection at Nordstrom.

3 coats

Ciate Heirloom is an Orly Space Cadet dupe. I won't try to describe the color because I will fail. It's a stellar polish, but it's not at all unique. Next!

3 coats. Ignore the dent - I'm a klutz

Ciate Love Letters is a stunning orange to pink duo with two sizes of pink sequins. This is like Sally Hansen Lava with glitter added. I'm pretty much obsessed with Lava, so naturally I'm even more obsessed with Love Letter. Don't worry, I already ordered a full size bottle.

Ciate Antique Brooch is a sheer gold base with two sizes of light pink sequins. 3 coats is opaque in some lighting but not at all opaque in direct light. I'd wear undies with this guy.

The consistency of all three of these was thick but manageable. This means they weren't goopy enough or annoying enough to thin, but they weren't perfect.

The Treasured Possessions collection is still a bit of an enigma to me. You can definitely get two of the three I've shown you today at Nordstrom ($15). There are others from the collection up, too. I can't find Heirloom, but Space Cadet is more cost effective anyway.

The Treasure Possessions mini set retails for $25 and is (supposed to be) a Sephora exclusive. I imagine they will get the full collection at some point.

I will definitely update this post with more info if any of this becomes more clear to me.

Dior 306 Gris Trianon is a putty grey creme. It has a touch of warmth that makes it more flattering on my skin tone than most straight greys. It doesn't scream Spring, which makes it a perfect addition to the light pinks in the collection. I like it!

The formula is pretty great. It was easy to apply, and I really liked the consistency of this one.

This immediately reminded me of OPI French Quarter For Your thoughts, so here's that comp

2 coats Gris Trianon, 2 coats French Quarter For Your Thoughts

Gris Trianon is a touch darker and warmer than FQFYT. The difference is more noticeable in person, but the overall effect is similar. I wouldn't say that any one needs to own both, but in case you're a serious grey addict, these are definitely not dead on dupes.

Dior 306 Gris Trianon retails for $24 and is available at Dior counters and Sephora.

What has been your favorite Spring release so far?

Moon Rendezvous, Groove is in the Heart, Careless Whisper

I initially wasn't excited about these shades but ordered them anyway (spoken like a true addict). I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. Deb's Romantic Rapture collection is a nice deviation from the typical pastels we're used to seeing for this season.

3 coats

Deborah Lippmann Moon Rendezvous (excuse the typo; it was late!) is a greyed out blue frost. I love the color, but I was not on board with those brush strokes...

...so I sponged another coat on top. Much better. Sponging it also brought out the gorgeous shimmer in this. The extra step is definitely worth it.

2 coats

Deborah Lippmann Groove is in the Heart is a vibrant baby pink that looks a touch warmer in my picture than in real life. There's also a light silver shimmer that is visible in the bottle but does not transfer to the nail. It's a gorgeous color. I love how saturated it is.

3 coats

Deborah Lippmann Careless Whisper is a nude base with gold, pink, and silver shimmer. It's almost like she dumped Diamonds and Pearls, Bring on the Bling, and Fashion into a bottle in perfect proportions. This. Is. Stunning! The shimmer is so beautiful against the base, but it doesn't overwhelm it. By far my favorite of the three.

I had no issues with the application of any of these. Well, besides Moon Rendezvous' brush strokes. That was definitely an issue! They all have a nice consistency on the thinner side but not runny.

These shades retail for $17 and are available at deborahlippmann.com

After an extremely disappointing Holiday 2012 polish offering, I was pretty much ready to buy anything remotely decent looking from Dior. The polishes in the Spring 2013 collection are by no means riveting, but after Lady...I'll take it.

I fully intended to swatch 355 Rosy Bow and 306 Gris Trianon and review them together, but I decided to wear Rosy Bow as a full mani first.

3 coats

Dior 355 Rosy Bow is a light/borderline mid-tone pink creme. Full disclosure: it looks a bit darker and cooler than what my picture is showing, at least on my monitor. 355 Rosy Bow is pretty much the epitome of a "girly" color, in my opinion. I don't wear or own a lot of pinks this shade, so it is a happy addition to my stash. Definitely not the most exciting, though.

The formula is manageable at best. The first two coats were quite streaky, but the third made it presentable. The consistency is also thicker than I'm used to from this brand. It's not the dream formula I've come to expect.

Also, did anyone notice the new bottle? Same shape and size, different label. It's no longer printed on the glass with "VERNIS" in a shade similar to the polish. Now, it's very...Chanel. Leave it to Dior to give us a cheap sticker label along with a $1 price increase. Oh well!

new vs. old

Dior 355 Rosy Bow retails for $24 and is available at Dior counters and Sephora.
