OPI The Man With The Golden Gun Swatch & Review

by - 28 October

2 coats over China Glaze Refresh Mint

OPI The Man With The Golden Gun is an 18k gold topcoat. The flakes are larger than Sephora by OPI It's Real but smaller than Zoya Gilty. I'll have a comp up soon.

I didn't love the application because the base is pretty thick, and the gold flakes are smaller than I expected. It is pretty, though, and I don't regret purchasing it.

Golden Gun retails for $30 and is available at Ulta.

  3. It looks lovely, especially with that base color. It does seem a bit skimpy on the flakes though.

  9. I am sooo rocking this topper. I was lucky enough to have bought it from someone I know who is licensed and she ordered them long before they released. Also there was a price change on them from when 'we' ordered and later...so I got mine for only $15 which was high for me but fair considering it sells for $30 if you can even find it. I am so in love with it - wearing it now over Tomorrow Never Dies and cannot stop looking at my fingers! Plus it makes my polish last a full week with a tiny tip touch up to the under polish shade.

  10. Agree - these are smaller flakes than the Zoya (and I like this size - think it's perfect) - and also for me MWGG is easier to get on the nail in good distribution than the Zoya Guilty is. I did not like the It's Real 18kt at all - way too small of pieces - it looked like gold glitter to me and not at all worth the price - but I only played with that one in a Sephora last summer.

  11. I did dab mine a # of times to get the right coverage over the nail - it did not take to a normal swipe of the brush well - I did that first then went back and did the dab, dab thing and it came out fab.
