A-England Tristam

by - 05 September

I've heard a lot of great things about A-England, and I finally got around to ordering a few. I was most excited to try Tristam.

A-England Tristam is a royal blue with a weak, scattered holo shimmer. It's quite pretty and sort of reminds me of a deeper, less holo DS Glamour. It would probably make a great base for Glamour.

There are tons of rave reviews about the formula. So much so that I expected to see rainbows, unicorns, and puppies flow out of the bottle on to my nails with no effort. Obviously, my expectations were far too high. It's a nice formula, and I had no application issues, but I just wasn't blown away.

I took these pictures on day two of wear and I'd already experienced a bit of tipwear and a few chips. I used my normal bc and tc combo of Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler and Butter London Hard Wear.

Overall, I don't regret this purchase. I was just a little disappointed that it didn't quite live up to the hype.

Tristam retails for £9.00 and is available at a-england.co.uk

  2. I'm with you on the formula - I actually find that some of the shades I have (I think I have 6-7 now?) are a little problematic. BUT I love all of them - I have Tristam and you make me want to pull it out again ASAP!!!

  6. I have to agree with you on the formula. I purchased five of these and only one of them has a nice formula.

  7. I've never had a problem with the formula, Galahad is the best polish I've ever used for that, but I do see what you're saying about Tristam, it's not the brightest holo. If you've never tried St. George though you so should. It's beyond gorgeous.
